the qatar masters is happening in doha this week! yes, amongst the sand we do have a golf course!! the qatar masters has been a regular feature on the PGA european tour since 1998. there are two courses at doha golf club, the championship course and the 9-hole academy course (which has three par-3 holes, five par-4 holes and one par-5 hole). the championship course was designed by peter harradine (if that means anything to you) and measures just under 7,400 yards from the back tees. hope you got all that as i'm not sure that i did!!! believe it or not i am actually thinking about possibly taking up golf lessons and give it a go! could be a relaxing hobby...or...quite the opposite...will let you know...
we're thinking the masters have attracted a few celebrities to doha - mike shared the elevator in the four seasons last night with boris becker after seeing andre agassi in the hotel lobby...

keep your fingers crossed - we should be finding out about our condo tomorrow...finally! chances of moving in this weekend are slim though as they still have to give it a thorough cleaning. but unlike london, it's not a big deal here to move during the week since everything is situated so close together...should take us two loads in the explorer. it has been great staying at scott and joanne's and i don't think i would have changed a thing. Living with them has taught mike and i so much about the doha, not to mention joanne's company during the day. we are VERY thankful to them.today i started shopping for the new place. (!!!) i bought some kitchen supplies at a store called tavola. mike and i have agreed that this 'phase in our lives' we are going to buy better quality stuff and not be worried about what we are going to do with it when we leave here. time to be grown up! not saying that our stuff in london was crap but we are going to take advantage of the fact that there is no ikea here!! bring it on... :)

Hi Mike & Krista,
Thanks for the update. I think Golfing would be a great hobby - go for it !!! I dare say Doha has the BIGGEST sand trap I've ever seen - haha. Thanks for the pics - yep, I've started an album for you - haha.
Love you,
Mom & Dad M
Do you remember what happened when my dad tried to teach me how to golf??? I hit him in the head with my club when I was practicing my swing. Watch out Mike -- like mother, like dtr.!It is a wonderful sport- glad you are taking a "swing"(ha,ha) at it. Love you lots like jelly tots!!!!Mams
This is not a post...just a message to "say nothing at all"

Fun sport. definitely relaxing - if you play for fun. otherwise its frustrating.
Any idea what we should do with all the "crap" we are storing for you in our basement?
