a well balanced weekend!

we had a fun filled weekend!! it all started with a relaxing massage at the four seasons spa on thursday evening. it was well needed (and deserved) for mike as he has been working extremely hard these past few weeks. and me...well, i couldn't let him go on his own now could i?!?! hehe. the facilities there are second to none so we decided to spend most of friday there as well. we had a great workout in the gym - so good that i can hardly walk today! we then treated ourselves to the friday brunch afterwards. once again, it didn't disappoint!

friday night was girl's night out and the 4 of us headed out to the sheraton hotel down by the corniche (the one shaped like a pyramid). we wanted wine therefore, a hotel destination was in order :) great company and conversation - they have definitely made the transition here easier.
sat. we went skating at the city centre rink. mike was the 'coach' and taught 4 year old daniel how to skate...lesson one anyways - i think it is going to be a work in progress! i even skated a few laps of the rink - i can't remember the last time i went skating! weird, we move to the desert and go skating!? it cost 35 riyals = 7 GBP/ 14 CDN for unlimited skating and skate hire. the skates have seen better days and they were in desparate need of a skate sharpen but nevertheless, they got me around the rink without a tumble. good thing as the skating rink attracts many onlookers with it being open above to all four levels of the mall.tonight, we redeemed ourselves from the last bbq with an exceptionally delicious bbq of (fresh) chicken kebabs and grilled vegetables. very tender not chewy like the last, phew! reminded me of our dinners at the cottage. *sniff, sniff*

another week gone - can't believe that we have been here for 3 weeks come monday. clearly, time flies when you are having fun! i must say that it has been a very easy place to adjust to - much easier than london, for me anyways. interesting considering doha is considerably different than home compared to london!!

busy week ahead...we should get the keys to our new pad and we are off to dubai next weekend as i have to leave and re-enter the country every month until i receive a work visa from an employer. tough life! actually, speaking of employers i think i am going to begin my job search soon. i seem to be running into a lot of 'obstacles'. to overcome these 'road blocks' i either have to a) get married or; b) become employed. i reckon the later is more realistic and acheiveable!! wish me luck...

lastly, just want to thank everyone for reading! i hope i am keeping your attention!? i installed a counter on the site (yep, a bit of mike's computer 'geekiness' has rubbed off on me) and the other day the site received over 100 visitors. wow, way more popular than we ever would have thought! don't be afraid to leave posts as we love reading them together as they come in!!

p.s. mr. molson - let me know if you are interested in seeing the graphs the counter generates!

I can't believe YOU went skating Kris!! Actually the last time we went skating was either at
Brooklin Arena or Nathan Phillips Square. We knew it was the last time as a family when dad and I had more fun and all the kids were waiting in the car for us. Remember? It sounds like you had a good w/e in preparation for next week. Good luck you two with the move. Love you lots like jelly tots. Mams

Hi Mike & Krista

I am one of the card ladies from Tuesday nights and Maureen was kind enough to share this blog with me. I am enjoying reading this blog very much as you really are a wonderful writer Krista. I have to agree with Mindy about perhaps a job in that field. Thanks for letting us share this adventure with you.

Hi guys :)))

Kris, I love your blogs... You'll have to print them into a book at some point... Maybe you can get published! hahaha :))) Seriously though, I love the updates and learning about the life.

Thanks for doing this,
