everyone please wish mike a HAPPY (belated) BIRTHDAY!!!
although his birthday was on sat. 3rd, we celebrated it on the friday by inviting everyone over, including the kids, for games, dinner and a swim! 
pretty low key compared to other birthdays in the past but he is approaching 'middle age' and we are in doha after all!! hehe. we had a good time nevertheless and a BIG thanks to jen who replicated doha in a birthday cake - complete with sand dunes and construction trucks!!! :)
saturday, i had the birthday boy all to myself :) we hung out together and just enjoyed the day. mike wanted to relax since work has been pretty hectic lately. we went for lunch and for a drive up the 'north road' to check out the royal palace. pretty impressive place - i tried to capture it on film but it was too far out from the road that the pictures didn't do it justice.
we made it home just as canada was waking up and ready to wish mike a happy birthday...perfect ending to the day i say :)
