back to normality

all the celebrations in qatar have come to end. routine has resumed back to 'normal'. businesses are back working regular working hours and the kids are back to school, as of tomorrow. although mike had to work off and on during the eid break, we still managed to spend some quality time not only together but with friends - that is what eid is all about in the muslim world!! eid is very similar to the holiday we know as christmas. the same sort of 'magical' christmas aura was in the air here in doha - the only difference being that everyone celebrates outside in the 30 degree weather with family and friends!! having said that, the waterfront was packed with families picnicking and the streets full of groups gathering wishing each other well. pretty amazing to experience.
